Coseiu

Comuna Coseiu este alcatuita din trei localitati dispuse in zona deluroasa de contact dintre Magura Chilioarei (372 m), Piemontul Salajan si Depresiunea Salaj. Desi are aspectul unui deal, deosebindu-se de Magura Simleului si Masivul Dealul Mare - Prisaca prin altitudine mai redusa, prin forma sa alungita pe directie nord-sud, prin relief si peisaj, Magura Chilioarei domina intreaga regiune. Teritoriul administrativ al comunei, dispus pe unitatile de relief mai sus mentionate, are o suprafata de 34,32 km2. Cele trei localitati care alcatuiesc comuna sunt: Coseiu, sat resedinta de comuna situat la o distanta de 21 km fata de municipiul Zalau, Archid si Chilioara.

Cea mai veche insemnare a resedintei de comuna dateaza din anul 1299, cand asezarea de la acea vreme era cunoscuta sub numele de Kusal. Satele Archid si Chilioara sunt asezari vechi, mentionate in anul 1368, cunoscute sub denumirile de Erked si Kyrwa.

Populatia totala a comunei numara la ultimul recensamant 1332 locuitori, scaderea populatiei in ultimele decenii fiind destul de pronuntata. Structura etnica a populatiei comunei se prezinta astfel: 47,52% romani, 50,37% maghiari si 2,11% rromi.

Economia este sustinuta de agricultura, comuna Coseiu inscriindu-se intre marii producatori agricoli ai judetului. Mici societati comerciale si asociatii familiale axate pe comert, servicii si mica industrie completeaza spectrul economic al comunei.

Sub aspect turistic, Magura Chilioarei cu peisajele sale si biserica reformata (monument de arhitectura datat in sec al XV-lea) sunt principalele obiective de interes ale comunei.

Coseiu

Coseiu commune is consisted of three villages placed in the hilly zone of the contact point between Magura Chilioarei (372 m), the Salejan Piedmont and the Salaj Basin. Its administrative territory is 34,32 square kms. The three component villages are: Coseiu (the central village situated at 21 kms distance from Zalau city), Archid and Chilioara.

The central village was firstly attested in 1299 when its name was Kusal. Both Archid and Chilioara were first mentioned in 1369, under the names Erked and Kyrwa.

The total population of the commune counts, according to the last census, 1332 inhabitants, the decrease of the population being fairly spectacular in the last decades. Its ethnical distribution is the following: 47,52% are Romanians, 50,37% Hungarians and 2,11% Roms.

The economy is sustained by the agriculture, the commune being one of the important growers of the county. Smaller commercial houses, some family business, services and the small industry complete the economical spectrum of the commune.

The picturesque sceneries of Magura Chilioarei and the reformed church (architectural monument dated from the 15th century) are the main touristic spectacles of the commune.

Kusaly

A kozseget harom falu, Kusaly (Coseiu) - a kozsegkozpont, mely 21 km-re talalhato Zilahtol, Szilegyerked (Archid) es Szilagykirva (Chilioara) alkotja, a Hegyes hegy (372 m), a Szilagysagi hegylabfelszin es a Szilagysagi medence talalkozasanal fekszik. Kozigazgatasi terulete 34,32 km2.

A kozsegszekhelyrol szolo legregebbi feljegyzes 1299-bol valo, ekkor Kusal neven emlitik. A falu folott valamikor var allott. A masik ket helyseg 1368-ban szerepel eloszor okiratban, Erked es Kyrwa neven.

Lakossaga az utolso nepszamlalasi adatok szerint 1332 fo, az utobbi evtizedekben szamottevo nepessegfogyatkozas figyelheto meg. Nemzetisegi megoszlasat tekintve 47,52%-ban romanok, 50,37%-ban magyarok es 2,11%-ban romak lakjak.

Kusaly a megye egyik jelentos mezogazdasagi termeloje. Gazdasagi fejlodesehez tobb kisebb kereskedelmi tarsasag es csaladi vallalkozas valamint a kisipar jelenlete is hozzajarul.

A Kirvai Magura szep tajai es a XV. szazadban epült reformatus templom a kozseg fobb turisztikai latvanyossagai. Az utobbi korul ferences rendi kolostor mukodott. Egy ideig itt elt es tanitott Ilosvai Selymes Peter, Toldi Miklós elso megverseloje, aki 1575-ben itt fejezte be Prolemeus cimu munkajat. A templom mellett haranglab all.
