Comuna Ileanda, cu un teritoriu administrativ intins pe o suprafata de 87,59 km2, si cu cele 13 sate componente, este amplasata in Culoarul Somesului, la contact cu zonele colinare ale dealurilor Simisna-Garbou si ale podisului Purcaret-Boiu Mare-Jugastreni.
Ileanda - sat resedinta de comuna situat la o distanta de 66 km fata de municipiul Zalau, este mentionat pentru prima oara sub denumirea de Ilandameze in anul 1390. Celelalte localitati ale comunei: Bizusa-Bai, Barsauta, Dabaceni, Dolheni, Luminisu, Maleni, Negreni, Perii Vadului, Podisu, Rastoci, Rogna si Sasa apar mentionate documentar in intervalul cuprins intre secolele XIV -XVII.
La ultimul recensamant, populatia comunei numara 2589 locuitori, din care 89,8% romani, 0,65% maghiari, 9,42% rromi si 1,13% alte nationalitati.
Economia comunei este una preponderent agrara, desi sectorul economic secundar este destul de bine reprezentat, iar serviciile au avut o evolutie ascendenta in ultimii ani.
Potentialul turistic al comunei este unul de exceptie. Statiunea Bizusa - Bai, prin apele sale minerale slab sulfuroase, bicarbonatate, slab clorurate, sunt indicate in tratarea unor afectiuni ale sistemului nervos, aparatului locomotor si in diferite afectiuni ginecologice.
Rezervatia naturala "La Castani" din Rogna, formele de relief endo si exocarstice, valea Somesului, biserica de lemn " Adormirea Maicii Domnului " din Ileanda, monument de arhitectura din secolul al XVII-lea, sunt cateva obiective de mare valoare ale comunei.
The commune has a87,59 square kms territory, its 13 component villages are situated in the Somes Couloir, at the contact point between the hilly zone of the Simisna - Garbou Hills and the Purcaret - Boiu Mare - Jugastreni Plateau.
Ileanda is the central village situated at 66 kms distance from Zalau city, it was mentioned for the first time in 1390 under the name Ilandameze. The other villages of the commune (Bizusa-Bai, Barsauta, Dabiceni, Dolheni, Luminisu, Maleni, Negreni, Perii Vadului, Podisu, Rastoci, Rogna and Sasa) were attested during the 14-17th centuries.
The population of the commune counts, according to the last census, 2589 inhabitants, of which 89,80% are Romanians, 0,65% Hungarians, 9,42% Roms and 1,13% are other nationalities.
The economy of the commune is mainly agricultural, although the secondary economical sector is also well-represented.
The sulphuretted, bicarbonated and chlorate mineral waters of the springs in Bizusa-Bai are indicated for nervous diathesis and for different gynaecological affections.
The natural reservation in Rogna, the endocarstic and exocarstic topographical forms, the valley of the Somes, along with the wooden church "Adormirea Maicii Domnului" in Ileanda, architectural monument dated from the 17th century are some of the most important touristical objectives of the commune.
