A tourist located in the area of Jibou City can visit “Vasile
Fati” Botanical Garden - unique due to the diversity of
the existing species, both in the country and around the
world. Stretching over an area of 25 ha and located in
the Northeastern part of the city, on the second terrace
of the Someș River, it houses over 5 000 plant species,
a Japanese garden with lakes full of water lilies in every
colour, the sector of ornamental flowers, botanical green-
houses, the aquarium complex, the paleontological sec-
tor, the zoological sector, the dendrological sector and a
miniature of Mount Fuji towering over the entire area.
Also, the Botanical Garden happily capitalizes the vesti- “Vasile Fati” Botanical Garden, Jibou
ges of the old park near the Wesselényi Castle,
the former noble residence of the Wesselényi
3 family. Near the city of Jibou, at just a 10-minute

Rona Limestone, Rona drive away, there is the Rona Limestone - a natu-
ral geological and landscape reserve. These are
calcareous formations made of white-gray lime
and beige-rust that alternate with grayish-blue shades
arranged in monoclinic layers containing numerous fossil
molasses, fish skeletons and reptiles, attributed to the
Jurassic geological period . About three kilometers from

the centre of Jibou, in an oak forest, there is Béldy Castle.
