At about a 10 minutes walk from the old town centre,
there is the memorial house “Ady Endre”, the house
where the Hungarian poet Ady Endre lived between 1892
and 1896. From a spiritual point of view, the city of Zalău
hosts various religious sites such as the “Holy Friday“ Cul-
tural Spiritual Complex - a complex architectural ensemble
of monumental proportions, which includes the Orthodox
cathedral itself, the heroes’ obelisk and multiple museum
spaces, the Roman Catholic Church - built in 1878 or the
Reformed Church - built on the ruins of an older church,
which due to its dimensions (a capacity of 1600 seats) o-
ccupies the second place among the reformed churches in
