The city of Zalău - the county seat impresses with its cul-
tural, ethnic and spiritual resources. The Zalău County Mu-
seum of History and Art invites us to “differently” discover
the cultural heritage of the county through virtual and aug-
mented reality solutions. Furthermore, the museum hosts
exhibits from the Paleolithic age represented by the recon-
struction of the Cuciulat cave habitat, the Neo-Eneolithic
age, the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, the Celts (IV-III BC), the
Dacians (2 century BC – 1 century AD), The Roman Limes

Early Middle Ages to the Zalău Fair, the Golden Age during
the Communist regime, more precisely its last two decades
(after the administrative reorganization in 1968)

and joins the Old City Centre or the Transylvania
Building, an expressive and extremely valuable urban
and architectural ensemble that Zalău can recommend to
its visitors. In the centre of the city, surrounded by a park
with ornamental shrubs, there is the statue of Wesselé-
nyi and the Samson Sheperd, which is a few centuries old.
In its immediate proximity there is also the “I.S. Bădescu“
County Library of Sălaj bearing the name of the scholar
Ioniţă Scipione Bădescu, a contributor to the journalism of
the time, promoting literature alongside the great writers
of the time.
