“Simion Bărnuţiu” Museum, Bocșa
If we choose the North-West direction of Zalău, at only 18
km, in Bocşa, we discover another historical objective - “Si-
mion Bărnuţiu” Museum named after the great patriot,
revolutionary, scholar, teacher, fighter for the rights of the
Romanians in Transylvania - Simion Bărnuţiu - who be-
comes the ideologist and soul of the Romanian revolution
between 1848 - 1849. Simion Bărnuţiu made great contri-
butions to the development of philosophical, political and
legal thinking in the Romanian Lands, created courses for
pupils and students, printed works of great value whose
principles are still topical today. The museum has three
main exhibition halls, including traditional objects from
the village realm, archaeological objects from different his-

11 the same direction, after another 10 km, in the village of
Șărmășag, there is Kemény Manor, built in 1745.
