But Porolissum Fest is not just about fighting and perform-
ing, it is also an experience where participants are invited Porolissum Fest
to a journey in time to learn how to make pottery, learn
archery, Roman hairstyles, archaic dances, or taste good-
ies and feel the tastes of ancient cuisine. At Porolissum,
a large number of ceramic pots with a decoration made
by stamping (Terra Sigillata Porolissensis) have been dis-
covered, which has led historians to believe that here was
the largest production centre in the Dacia province for this
type of pottery and among the largest pottery production
centres in the Roman Empire. Ceramic pots of this category
- with different shapes - were decorated by the stamping
/ printing method in the soft clay before the burning of
some decorative elements (geometrical or vegetal), and
the printing / stamping of the decoration was done with
various tools - from toothed wheels, rolls with decorative
