International Folklore Festival
“Ecouri Meseșene”

The International Folklore Festival “Ecouri Meseșene” is
one of the most popular events of this kind in Sălaj County
and promotes traditional dances, the authenticity of tra-
ditional costumes and folk songs from the country and
abroad. On this occasion, the folk-loving audience can ad-
mire and know the diversity of national and international
traditions.
The event is organized in August.

Onion Monument, Pericei
International Folklore Festival “Ecouri Meseșene”
Onion Festival

With an almost legendary tradition in onion cultivation,
Pericei commune in Sălaj County entered the 2007 Book of
Records for “The world’s longest onion crown” and in 2009
for “The biggest monument dedicated to onion”. As a token
of appreciation, the inhabitants built a monument and dedi-
cated a festival to it.
The event is organized in September.
